Abbess Jiun Hosen will warmly welcome the group and explain their traditional practices at Bodhi.<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/0c63f5782f4a5edac3d35dd48\/images\/e690b73c-884a-441d-a122-b37fae92838b.jpg\" \/>Healing hot springs are located at the Center, adjacent to the Jemez River.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1485221908856_72735\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bmzc.org\/the-center\/the-grounds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">http:\/\/www.bmzc.org\/the-center\/the-grounds\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/0c63f5782f4a5edac3d35dd48\/images\/a074fc5d-747e-4b52-a95f-a9cc9dfda8b1.jpg\" \/><strong id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1485221908856_72844\">Friday, March 31<\/strong>\u00a0we will meet with Jemez Pueblo flute maker and player Marlon Magdalena. \u00a0Marlon says, &#8220;I proudly participate in all aspects of Jemez Life; for instance, I speak the Jemez Language, I plant Jemez corn, sing Jemez songs, and dance Jemez Dances. I am proud that I am from a place that still continues our ancient ways of life.&#8221;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/0c63f5782f4a5edac3d35dd48\/images\/234fdcf1-9ce6-4698-b0db-0a337e04c295.jpg\" \/>Marlon has been an\u00a0artist for much of his life and creates paintings and traditional crafts. \u00a0He also\u00a0makes and performs on a\u00a0wide variety of hand-carved flutes. \u00a0He will lead us in the making of traditional cane flutes and explain the important meaning of flutes in the life of Pueblo people. (See:\u00a0<a id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1485221908856_72941\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aluaki.com\/bio.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">http:\/\/www.aluaki.com\/bio.php<\/a>\u00a0)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, April 1<\/strong>\u00a0the group will enjoy a time of service with Jemez Pueblo resident Roger Fragua on his farm, helping prepare the fields for spring crops and learning about traditional values. \u00a0Roger has said, \u00a0&#8220;Farming with nature (the root of organic farming) lies at the heart of practices used by native farmers in the Southwest for millennia.
